tail of log

is there any way to have a log tail created? I don't see any option on Minion.BackupDB that would allow that.

Currently we don’t have that because it’s usually a manual decision and you wouldn’t want it included in a nightly solution. However, we’re planning v.2 right now so if you can give me a good use case as to why it needs to be in a table config I’ll certainly look at it.

Thanks for the clarification. My use-case might not be sufficient to warrant inclusion in the product, but here it is, anyway:

As part of our implementation of Minion Backup, I've been working on code to create restore scripts (based on into in the Minion.BackupFiles table). One scenario that my code covers (parameter-driven) is when things have gone pretty awry and a log-tail is needed. Currently, I just take the tail, and put it in the same location as the Minion-generated backup files. However, it never gets logged in BackupFiles, and consequently will not be cleaned up after "RetHrs" have passed. I was hoping I could call the Minion Backup proc, with the appropriate parameters to kick off the tail of the log so that the action would be logged, and then regularly scheduled cleanup would remove the file.
